Why is this an 'Unofficial' site?
This project began in June 2006 when I felt there was a need to get the Roundtable information to the leaders who could not attend the monthly sessions for one reason or another.I wanted to contribute to the Council website, in the Lake Sands District section, but they would not allow this. I 'purchased' the LakeSandsDistrict.org domain July 2006, have hosted and maintained it (at NO CHARGE to the District), and plan to do so as long as I am able.
Keeping in mind copyright laws I knew I could not affiliate the site to the BSA, nor did I want to. I wanted to freely publish any information I felt was important to Scouting and an aid to the Scouters in our District.
For these reasons I make sure anyone who visits this site realizes, up front, it is NOT an official BSA website.
